Higher Earth #1
Though the two books are miles apart in terms of tone, story and style I couldn’t help but be reminded of Saga whilst reading this first issue, and that is of course a most unfair comparison to make for any book. What I think it was that summoned Saga is the fact that Higher also attempts to tell a highly imaginative tale of two people on the run through a fan of different fantastical worlds, only it does so with much less success than Vaughn did in his first issue ( which was admittedly twice the size). Now none of this is to say that script writer Sam Humphries is doing a horrible job, no his story is strong, as is the way that Francesco Biagini tells it, it’s just way too short.
